The Introduction Performance of White Bayberry Varieties in Linhai Zhejiang

Abstract:

In order to optimize and adjust the variety structure of bayberry and select excellent white bayberry variety suitable for planting in Linhai, an investigation was carried out on several introduced white bayberry varieties and two local white bayberry varieties, and the indexes such as phenology, fruit characters, storability and resistance to twig blight disease were comprehensively evaluated. The results showed that there were significant differences in the performance of the nine white bayberry varieties introduced in Linhai, and the ‘Shui-jing-tou’ variety showed early maturity, relative resistance to twig blight disease, and superior fruit characters, which could be used as a good early maturing white bayberry variety for introduction and promotion.
