Abstract:

In order to screen out the best exogenous hormone treatment to promote the germination of Agriophyllum squarrosum, different concentrations of gibberellin (GA3, GA4+7) and ABA synthesis inhibitor fluridone (FL) were used to conduct seed soaking experiments. The effects of soaking concentration and soaking time on the germination of Agriophyllum squarrosum were studied. The results showed that: (1) the germination of Agriophyllum squarrosum was better after being soaked by 1.6 g/L GA3, 0.4 g/L GA4+7 and 5.0 μmol/L FL, the germination rate was 93%, 82% and 100%, respectively, and the overall effect was FL>GA3>GA4+7; (2) at the optimum concentration, the germination rate of Agriophyllum squarrosum increased with the prolonging of the seed soaking in exogenous hormones within the soaking time of 0-24 h, and the germination rate was the highest at the soaking time of 24 h; (3) under the same seed soaking time, the germination rate under FL was higher than that under GA3 and GA4+7, and FL could break seed dormancy faster and promote rapid seed germination. In short, soaking seeds with exogenous hormones can not only improve the germination rate of Agriophyllum squarrosum, but also greatly shorten the germination process.
