Abstract: In order to study the effects of sweet-potato glycoprotein (SPG)on the serum lipid levels in mice, a group of mice models of hyperlipidemia were set up by basic diet and 8.0% lard , then divided into 4 groups equally, the first group, which was control group , were fed on basic diet , the another three groups were fed on basic diet with 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5% SPG respectively. The concentrations of serum lipid were detected by full automatic biochemical analysis instrument every other 15 days. The results showed that basic diet containing 1.0% SPG could obviously reduce the concentration of serum total cholesterol(TC) within 15 days, and the concentration of triglycercles(TG) within 30 days, besides these, the basic diet containing 1.5% SPG could lower the both TG and TC levels significantly. So SPG has effects on decreasing the blood lipids concentration.
