Abstract:

From 2016 to 2019, populations of Spodoptera exigua adults and Spodoptera litura adults were monitored by using sex pheromone traps on vegetable areas in Kunming. The results showed that: S. exigua and S. litura were harmful all year round. There were one or two peak periods in the whole year, and the trapped number of S. litura was 7.09 to 14.89 times of that of S. exigua. From 2016 to 2017, the peak of S exigua was from late May to mid-to-late October. In 2018, the peak occurred from May 10 to July 31 and from August 31 to September 10. In 2019, the pest quantity was the lowest, and the peak occurred from late April to late September. In 2016, the peak of S. litura occurred from late May to early October. In 2017, the peak occurred from June 30 to August 31 and from September 30 to November 30. In 2018, the peak occurred from May 10 to July 31 and November. In 2019, the peak occurred from April 30 to September 30 and November. The peak period of S. exigua and S. litura occurred in summer and autumn. This study could provide data reference for the green prevention and control of S. exigua and S. litura in Kunming vegetable areas.
