Abstract: 【OBJECTIVE】 In order to realize the status of the soil fertility in the Karst planting area of Chinese traditional medicinal materials, the studies provides the theoretical basis of fertilization of Chinese traditional medicinal materials; 【METHOD】According to status of planting and distribution of Chinese traditional medicinal materials in Karst area of Guangxi province, based on data obtained from field soil investigations and laboratory analysis, with the aid of the mathematical statistics-based analysis methods, the research studied on the characteristics of soil fertility in area of Chinese traditional medicinal materials planting. 【RESULTS】 The results showed that the acidity of the soil was from neutral to slightly alkaline, the texture was very sticky, and the CEC was relatively high, because of abundance content of exchangeable Ca. About soil nutrient, these soils have rich organic matter, total N and total P, average contents of them are 49.4g/kg, 2.92g/kg and 1.10g/kg, respectively, but lack total K, available K and available B, especially available B, the average content is only 0.15mg/kg, the soil samples that available B lack extremely occupy 97 percent of all in this investigation, the soil available B lack extremely. 【CONCLUSION】The soil K and B is lacking in Karst area of Chinese traditional medicinal materials planting in Guangxi, so it’s necessary to pay attention to the application of K and B in fertilization.
