Abstract: In this paper, changes of water and chlorophyll content in maturity leaf of “yunyan202”, a new flue-cured tobacco variety, were investigated during curing process. The results showed that the chlorophyll content was obviously lower in fresh maturity leaf of “yunyan202” than that in both “K326” and “honghuadajinyuan”. However, the ratio of water in “yunyan202” was only lower than that in “K326”, but higher than that in “honghuadajinyuan”. In the coloring phase of the cure, the speed of chlorophyll decrease was faster in “yunyan202” than that in both “K326” and “honghuadajinyuan”. Time of leaf full coloring in “yunyan202”was same to that in “K326” but significantly shorter than that in “honghuadajinyuan”. The speed of water loss was slower in “yunyan202” than that in “honghuadajinyuan”, however faster than that in “K326”. In the coloring fixing and the drying phases, the time of lamina dried in “yunyan202”was between that in “K326” and “honghuadajinyuan”. These indicate that the cure is easy for “yunyan202”.
