Abstract:

In order that we can breed high yield, good quality new varieties in early-mature cotton area in Beijiang, and can provide theoretical guidance for selecting the parents of cross combinations, the experiments were conducted to investigate growth period, and agronomic traits, yield structure character and fiber qualities on 10 high quality varieties (strains) in Northern Xinjiang. And correlations were analyzed between economical characters and other traits. The results indicated that the flowering plant, plant height and the bolls per plant produce greater influence, positively correlated with production. The correlation was significant between number of flowering plant and lint yield, negative correlation with the majority between agronomic characters and quality. Plant high repositively related with production and quality and can be a certain range to control yield and quality simultaneously through improve plant high. The closed factors with the lint yield are important approach to increase cotton output except for suitable plant type.
