Abstract: In order to explore the effect of oil palm-pineapple intercropping on soil nutrition and soil enzyme activity, a field experiment was conducted to study the effect of soil nutrition and enzyme activities in an oil palm-pineapple intercropping system. Results showed that: the intercropping treatment could reduce soil pH; organic matter content displayed no significant difference between treatment and control, while the content in harvest period was higher than growing period. Soil nitrogen, phosphorus content in treatment was higher than in control, and soil potassium in treatment was higher than in control during growing period, while there was no significant difference between treatment and control in harvest period. The intercropping treatment reduced soil urease and phosphatase activity overall, meanwhile increased catalase activity.
