Abstract: Anoplophora glabripennis (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) is one of the most destructive insect borers of poplar tree in China on the list of national forestry risk pests. The aim of this study is to know the occurrence and development of A. glabripennisso and the latest progresses of its inspection and quarantine techniques, so as to take targeted measures and provide references for its quarantine and inspection. The conventional quarantine techniques, molecular biological diagnostic tec niques and plant quarantine treatments of A.glabripennisso were reviewed in this paper. The main quarantine treatments were methyl bromide fumigation and heat treatment at present. However, a combination of a variety of plant quarantine treatments could achieve better results, thus a safe and effective quarantine and inspection technique system of A. glabripennisso should depend on multi-disciplinary research in the future.
