Systematic Group and Mating Analysis of Agrocybe aegerita Complex

Abstract: [Objective]Agrocybe aegerita complex, an important mushroom with high economic value, included many groups with high diversity and confusing denomination. [Method]To provide scientific reference for the breeding work, molecular data of mitochondrial small subunit (mtSSU) V4-6-9 regions and mating tests were employed for the investigation on four reference stains with different designations, [Result]and the results showed (1): mtSSU V4-6-9 could be used as the efficient molecular mark for distinguishing A. salicacola, A. aegerita/A. chaxingu and “Yangshugu” groups; (2) mating tests showed A. salicacola was an independent biological species, and other groups were the same biological species A. aegerita which was suggested as the general name. [Conclusion]The results in this study may provide a reference for the identification and breeding program of A. aegerita complex.
