Abstract:

The traditional method of protecting urban historical heritage has great limitations in information processing and management. Aiming at the development of world heritage protection and management mechanism, the construction process of GIS database of urban resource survey and information integration is analyzed through successful cases at home and abroad. The paper expounds the practice of GIS in the aspects of urban cultural heritage protection, urban historical landscape protection, regional cultural and natural heritage protection, landscape heritage protection and so on. It is pointed out that the domestic heritage protection should make use of new ways of thinking and research methods to integrate GIS and other digital technologies into heritage protection management research. We need to strengthen the study of heritage value and heritage document preservation, GIS system detection and so on. The research shows that information processing, editing heritage documents and drawing thematic maps are the core links in the construction process of dynamic GIS database, which can effectively excavate the outstanding heritage value of historical cities and help the management department to formulate different urban heritage document protection and management strategies, so as to provide innovative ideas for the future heritage protection and sustainable development of China.
