Abstract:

The study aims to explore the characteristics of land use evolution and geographic ecological process in Youyang County from 2000 to 2015, and provide a scientific basis for the sustainable use of regional land resources. We used map theory informatics to study the spatial distribution characteristics and temporal and spatial evolution of regional land use. The results showed that different land types in the study areas had different development trends during the 15 years. The land use structure was mainly forestland and grassland with the area ratio of 86.79%, 88.54%, 86.13%and 85.86%, respectively, and the forestland had a dominant position. There are certain differences in the types and areas of the main graph units of the three sequential units. In the map of land use rise and fall, forestland had the largest rise area, accounting for 38.67% of newly increased area, and grassland had the largest fall area, accounting for 38.03% of the shrink area. The research could provide certain scientific support for the sustainable development of land use and ecological construction in Youyang County in the future.
