Abstract:

To compare the incidence of rice blast among 24 rice varieties in southwest Hubei and screen suitable varieties, the 24 rice varieties were planted in 10 locations, Zhonglu, Laifeng, Badong, Jianshi, Changyang, Hefeng, Xuan’en, Baiyang and Xianfeng, with Wuhan Huangpi as control, and the incidence of leaf blast and neck blast were investigated between 2018 and 2019. The results showed that the incidence of blast in all the above areas in 2019 was significantly higher than that in 2018. The most severe outbreak was Xuan’en, and no rice blast occurred in Xianfeng for 2 years. Among the 24 varieties tested, ‘Rongyou Huazhan’ has the best resistance and it is suitable for popularizing in southwest Hubei.
