The Development Process and Prospect of Soil Pollution Prevention and Control in China

Abstract:

The three stages of the soil pollution prevention and control process in China from 2005 to 2019 were took as the main line in this review, and the important changes of five aspects, including the management model, governance system, management and control requirements, institutional reform, and legislative support, were summarized during the development of soil pollution prevention and control. The national and local soil environmental protection standards, laws, regulations and policies, and the effectiveness of major soil pollution control were analyzed. The suggestions were made from improving soil environmental standards and management systems, establishing big data platform for monitoring and early warning, enhancing international cooperation on soil ecology and environment, and promoting soil remediation technology research and experience extension in pioneer areas according to the future development trend of soil pollution prevention and control in China, to provide references for high-level protection of ecological environment and high-quality economic and social development.
