Abstract:

In order to establish an effective evaluation method for salt tolerance of maize at seedling stage, the salt tolerance of 10 maize varieties at seedling stage was systematically evaluated through gradient brackish water treatment and multivariate statistical analysis. Interquartile range analysis combined with salt-tolerant threshold analysis showed that the optimal concentration of saline treatment for salt tolerance identification was 0.5%. With principal component analysis and membership function analysis, the salt tolerance coefficient of 7 agronomic traits could be converted into comprehensive membership function value for salt tolerance evaluation (D value). Combined with cluster analysis, the salt tolerance grade of maize at seedling stage could be divided into high tolerance, tolerance, medium tolerance, sensitivity and high sensitivity. The regression equation between D value and salt tolerance coefficient of 7 agronomic traits was established by stepwise regression analysis: D = -1.147 + 0.823 * long diameter + 0.713 * plant height. The above research can provide a scientific method for evaluating the salt tolerance of maize at seedling stage.
