Overview of Water Utilization Efficiency of Intercropping Crops

Abstract

Abstract: Intercropping is an important measure for the sustainable development of agriculture, especially in arid and semiarid region and under the condition of limited water resources. To improve water use efficiency and yield by means of the competition and complementary between intercropping crops is a difficult point of water use in intercropping. By literature reviews, the authors systematically analyzed the research achievements of water use efficiency of intercropping crops and its evaluation, and then explored the research difficulties and research priorities. The results could be applied to improving agricultural water use efficiency, and providing a theoretical basis for the sustainable development of agriculture.
