Abstract: To study the effective substitution of inorganic fertilizer N, rice variety‘Nanjing 5055’was used as material, a plot experiment was conducted to study the effect of basal application of organic fertilizer replacing inorganic N tillering fertilizer retroposition on rice yield and growth. The results showed that without basal application of inorganic N fertilizer or having organic fertilizer replacing inorganic N fertilizer could increase seedling number in peak time, and the peak seedling emergence time would delay. The replacement could decrease leaf basal angle of flag leaves, top second leaf and top third leaf in heading stage, increase the leaf length of top third leaf, and delay the declining rate of chlorophyll content after heading. The treatment could increase yield by increasing productive ear number and thousand seed weight, but it had little effect on agronomic traits, except plant height.
