Abstract: The authors studied the effect of cadmium on the nutrient uptake of microelements in sugar beet by adding different concentrations of Cd2 ions in the nutrient solution, in order to provide basic data for further understanding the effects of cadmium pollution on sugar beet growth, and provide a basis for the safe production of sugar beet. The results showed that: (1) with the increase of Cd2 concentration, sugar beet seedlings gradually faded and yellowed, and the dry and fresh weight of the seedlings decreased; (2) Cd2 ion concentration in sugar beet seedlings increased under cadmium stress; (3) Cd2 ions were added to the nutrient solution, so that boron, copper, zinc, iron, manganese and molybdenum in root, stem and leaf had different changes, some increased in absorption while some decreased. The presence of cadmium in the nutrient solution could affect the nutrient absorption of sugar beet, destroy the nutrient balance resulting in the change of sugar beet growth and various degrees of harm. With the increase of Cd2 concentration in the nutrient solution, the sugar beet seedlings were seriously damaged and the effect of cadmium was obvious.
