Abstract: The Cheng’s Index Classification Method was used to study rice characteristics. The results showed as follows: There was some relation on characteristics of subspecies and economical traits. Subspecies Characteristics correlated with seed setting rate, plant height, panicle number per plant and panicle weight. Especially, there was close relation on Subspecies Characteristics, Primary rachis branches traits(number per panicle, 1000-grain weight ,grain number ,seed setting rate ) and the secondary rachis branches grains rate . Subspecies Characteristics correlated with the large vascular bundles number of panicle neck and the small vascular bundles number of panicle neck.
