Abstract: According to studying the influence of shading intension and shading duration to the development and the form characters of soybean. The results showed that, shading 20%~50% from seeding to Third-node stage and to the later developing-stage, the days of all developing-stage were shortened, and the days from seedling to maturing were shortened too. Shading 20% from seeding to third-node stage and to the later developing-stage, shading 30% from seeding to flowering and to the later developing-stage, shading 50% from seeding to filling and to maturing, the days from seedling to maturing decreased significantly. In the same shading period, with the increasing of the shading intensity, the days from filling to maturing, the days from seedling to maturing increased. The effect on shading intensity and shading duration to four characters (plant height, cotyledon node height, number of nodes on main stem and diameter of main stem) of soybean was significant. Bearing shading 50% from seeding to filling and to harvesting, the form of soybean varied significantly, the growth of plant became sprawling.
