Abstract: The study is to provide scientific basis for high production and quality of high-oil soybean with certain cultural factors. The field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of sowing stage and planting density on the seed yield and quality characteristics of high-oil soybean Huaidou 8.The results showed as follows: i The highest yield, 3103.75kg/hm2, in this experiment appeared in treatment with sowing stage at June 20 and with density of 30×104 plants per hectare. ii Sowing stage was more important for seed yield and quality than plant density. iii The pod-seeds per plant decreased as sowing stage delayed and as planting density increased. There was close relationship between l00-seed weight, seeds per pod and sowing stages, the l00-seed weight decreased when sowing stage after June 20.
