Abstract:

This paper gave a review of the research outcomes of domestic scholars from three aspects, which were index system, evaluation method and improvement method, Then described the latest development of tourism competitiveness research in overseas, finally summarized the main features of tourism competitiveness research in recent years both domestic and abroad: In the aspect of index system, domestic scholars had not breakthrough the framework of Michael Porter's Diamond Model, foreign scholars had some defects in correlation analysis of different factors. In the aspect of theoretical model, domestic scholars seldom involve it, but foreign scholars have been concerned with it, especially a lot of beneficial attempts in model updating and introduction of theory in other fields. Compared with domestic scholars, foreign scholars expanded further in the aspect of evaluation method. In the aspect of improvement method, there were merely simple exposition in most of domestic research, foreign scholars put forward some useful suggestions, but it still need to be further researched.
