Growth and Development Law of Jujube Fruiting Sections and Jujube’s Fruit Bearing Shoot

Abstract: The research aims to study the growth and development law of jujube fruiting sections and jujube's fruit bearing shoot, and take corresponding technical measures to strengthen the management of jujube orchard in order to improve the yield of jujube. The authors used random sampling method to survey statistics thickness and length of jujube fruiting sections and germinated jujube’s fruit bearing shoot number, length, leaf number and fruiting number in the jujube fruiting sections of 24 jujube varieties (lines) cultivated in Yanchuan jujube producing areas, and combined with laboratory analysis, studied the growth and development law of jujube fruiting sections and jujube’s fruit bearing shoot. The results clarified that thickness, length and shape of jujube fruiting sections and length and leaf number and fruiting number of jujube’s fruit bearing shoot had certain relationship with jujube fruiting section age and revealed their law of growth and development. Intervarietal variation of jujube fruiting sections and jujube’s fruit bearing shoot growth was greater than that between ages of jujube fruiting sections. The authors proposed that the growth and development curve based on jujube fruiting sections could be used to divide the growth and development into 5 phases, and established for the first time the comprehensive index for selecting high yielding varieties of Chinese jujube on the basis of the correlation between some biological character and the effective fruiting. The study provided a scientific basis and practical measures of jujube fruiting sections management for high yield jujube orchard.
