Abstract: In order to select anti-cracking jujube cultivars which are suitable for planting in Jiaxian County, the change trends of fruit cracking rate and water absorption rate of ten local jujube cultivars, including‘Jiaxianchangzao’, ‘Goutouzao’, ‘Zanhuangzao’, ‘Junzao’, ‘Hupingzao’, ‘Jinsixiaozao’, ‘Yuanlingzao’, ‘Jinzao’, ‘Lingbaozao’, ‘Muzao’, were analyzed through laboratory experiment under soaking condition, the crack resistances of 10 jujube cultivars were compared. The results showed that, the fruit cracking rate of jujube increased almost in a straight line in less than 24 hours, and tended to be stable after 72 hours. There was a linear dependence between the fruit cracking rate and the water absorption rate of different jujube cultivars during soaking time of 24 to 48 hours in mature stage. The fruit cracking rate significantly varied among different cultivars of jujube, ‘Junzao’ had the highest fruit cracking rate of 93.3%, while ‘Yuanlingzao’ had the lowest of 26.7%, followed by ‘Jiaxianchangzao’ and ‘Lingbaozao’. As a result, ‘Yuanlingzao’, ‘Jiaxianchangzao’ and ‘Lingbaozao‘ were selected as suitable cultivars for planting in Jiaxian County.
