Abstract: In order to explore the structure characteristics, yield distribution and fruit quality of the small and sparse canopy shape of Chinese Jujube, so as to provide theoretical support for jujube tree pruning. The author took Chinese jujube ‘Luzao2’ as experiment materials, and discussed on the individual structure, growth characteristics, the distribution of yield, and differences of fruit quality of the small and sparse canopy shape. The results showed that: the yield major distribution layer of small and sparse canopy shape was intermediate canopy, the number of fruit and shedding shoot of jujube was largest, but the fruitful shoot ratio was lower than other two canopy, mean fruit weight of the lower canopy was heaviest, the SPAD of chlorophyll, leaf area, the length of shedding shoot of jujube, soluble solids of the upper canopy was higher than the lower canopy. The jujube small and sparse canopy shape pruning, strictly controlled the vegetative growth of the upper canopy, properly controlled the lateral branch length of the middle canopy, scaling the lateral branch of the lower canopy, which could improve the quality and yield of fruit.
