Influencing Factors of Farmers’ Information Demand Under the
Integration of Urban and Rural Areas:
An Empirical Study Based on Xigemu Town in Heilongjiang Province

Abstract: In order to continually increase the impact of agricultural economy on the overall national economy, promote process of urban-rural integration and draw more attention to the influencing factors of agricultural information demand and information access, demand for agricultural information service was analyzed with Logistic bivariate regression model and linear regression model through a questionnaire survey on farmers in Ping’an Village, Xigemu Town, Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. The results showed that gender, age, education, multiple job-holding degree, planting area, family income, risk preference and labor force had significant impacts on farmers’ demand for agricultural information. Based on this result, the author put forward suggestions including encouraging male labor come home, strengthening basic education and the information service work in rural areas and implementing land circulation system.
