Coconut Pests and Diseases: Current Status and Outlook

Abstract: Coconut is an important woody oil crop and pabular energy crop in tropics. To date, though fruitful progress has been achieved in studies on major coconut pests and diseases in China, integrated pest management is still a critical task in the healthy development of coconut industry and ecological security. In this review, research status of coconut pests and diseases was introduced firstly, and then achievements on integrated pest management (IPM) were reviewed, then issues regarding the existing problems were analyzed, and finally the importance of IPM of coconut was interpreted and the outlook was discussed.
