Abstract:

To study the activities of defense enzymes in apple by leaf-spraying salicylic acid (SA), the resistant variety ‘Kitanosach’ and the susceptible variety ‘Liquanduanfu’ were used as materials, the activities of defense enzymes in the leaves were detected before and after different-concentration SA treatments. The results showed that after treated by salicylic acid, the β-1,3-glucosidase, POD, PAL and PPO activities of ‘Kitanosach’ and ‘Liquanduanfu’ increased and were higher than those of the control. The activity of β-1,3-glucanase, POD, PAL and PPO in ‘Kitanosach’ was 2.04 times, 6.19 times, 2.73 times and 2.32 times of those of the control, respectively. The activity of β-1,3-glucanase, PAL POD and PPO in ‘Liquanduanfu’ was 1.82 times, 1.70 times, 5.68 times and 4.00 times of those of the control, respectively. Therefore, the activities of defense enzymes can be increased by different degrees after treated by salicylic acid, but the resistance of different varieties was different.
