Abstract:

To explore the effect of different concentrations of exogenous substances abscisic acid (ABA) on the agronomic characters and yield of adzuki bean, adzuki bean variety ‘Baihong 8’ and ‘012-27’ were used as the experimental materials. After spraying different concentrations of ABA on the leaves in field, the length of the main stem, the diameter of the main stem, the fresh weight of the leaves, the fresh weight of the roots and the yield characters were measured at different growth stages. The results showed that ABA treatment with 100 mg/L and 200 mg/L at flowering stage could significantly reduce the main stem length of ‘Baihong 8’ and ‘012-27’. In the treatment of A100, the fresh weight of leaves of ‘Baihong 8’ and ‘012-27’ at flowering stage was increased by 33.54% and 23.81%, respectively. Compared with that of CK, grain number per plant of the two varieties under A100 was increased by 12.80% and 20.13%, respectively. To sum up, abscisic acid spraying could reduce the length of main stem of adzuki bean, and increase the diameter of main stem, fresh weight of leaves, fresh weight of roots and the number of seeds per plant of adzuki bean significantly. ABA spraying of 100 mg/L at flowering stage could increase the yield of adzuki bean to some extent.
