Abstract:

In order to obtain germplasm resources with excellent direct seeding characteristics, 10 rice germplasms introduced from Russia were used to study the characteristics of mesocotyl elongation length, germination capacity at low temperature and germination ability under submerging. The results showed that the germination rate of ‘LIDER’, ‘ATLANT’, ‘OLIMP’ was the fastest, and ‘LIDER’, ‘OLIMP’, ‘ATLANT’, ‘NATASHA’, ‘ISTOK’ and ‘PARTNER’ had better germination ability under low temperature condition. The mesocotyl elongation length of ‘ATLANT’, ‘ISTOK’, ‘RAPANZ’, ‘GAMMA’, ‘OLIMP’ and ‘SONET’ was significantly different from ‘Luxianggen 28’ at 5% level. Under anoxic condition, there were significant differences of germination ability under submerging among all varieties. All varieties introduced from Russia exhibited better germination rate than the control. Among the 10 Russian varieties, ‘ATLANT’ had the best comprehensive traits related to direct seeding. The mesocotyl elongation length, germination capacity at low temperature and germination ability under submerging of ‘ATLANT’ were significantly better than the control.
