Advances in Germplasm Resources and Genetic Breeding of Pseudostellaria heterophylla in China

Abstract:

This paper reviewed the research progress of phenotypic and molecular genetic diversity of Pseudostellaria heterophylla germplasm resources in China, as well as the characteristics of most domestic varieties, aiming to provide reference for further research on germplasm resources and genetic breeding of P. heterophylla. In this paper, the distribution of germplasm resources of P. heterophylla, phenotypic diversity, and molecular genetic diversity were investigated. The results show that it is an inevitable trend to develop P. heterophylla industry by breeding varieties with high yield, excellent quality, strong disease resistance and adaptability, and high content of polysaccharides and cyclic peptides. The study also puts forward some suggestions on breeding P. heterophylla in China.
