Abstract:

The study aims to explore the initiation effect of different concentrations of melatonin on the same type of beet seeds, and lay a theoretical foundation for the screening of beet seed coating materials. In this study, STm1619 beet seeds were used as experimental materials, and 9 treatments with 3 concentrations and 3 time gradients were set up. By soaking beet seeds back to dry germination culture, the germination potential, germination rate, germination index and vigor index were measured. The results showed that the germination potential, germination rate, germination index and vigor index of STm1619 beet seeds treated with 50 μmol/L for 8, 12 and 24 h were significantly higher than those of the control. The germination potential, germination rate, germination index and vigor index of STm1619 beet seeds treated with 100 μmol/L for different time were higher than those of the control. The germination potential, germination rate, germination index and vigor index of beet seeds treated with 200 μmol/L for 8, 12 and 24 h were also higher than those of the control. The effects of different concentrations of melatonin on seed germination of STm1619 sugar beet varied with time. Too long or too short processing time will have a certain impact on the initiation effect.
