Abstract:

Seed-tuber dressing is a necessity in potato cultivation because of cubed potato sowing. However, the existing methods mainly aim at the prevention of diseases and insect pests and focus on chemical agent closure. To meet the needs of induced resistance and green input increase in potato production and the development of green agriculture, we chose early-mature potato variety ‘XiSen No.3’ as the test material, and took the fermentation products VDAL and Harpin immune-induced protein dry powder which were made of engineering bacteria for seed-tuber dressing. Compared with the conventional chemical agent seed-tuber dressing method, we set up different concentrations of VDAL and Harpin, obtained the test data of potato germination, seedling emergence, plant and tuber growth and yield by investigation and statistics, and carried out the comprehensive evaluation of the effects of VDAL and Harpin on potato growth and development. 0.5 ppm Harpin and 3 ppm VDAL had better effects on the early emergence rate, which was above 20% higher than that of CK. The plant height increased by 13.73% and 9.30% respectively, tuber weight per plant in tuber expansion period increased by more than 20%, and the yield increased by 20.04% and 12.99% respectively compared with those of CK. This study identified the effects of seed-tuber dressing by VDAL and Harpin and could provide reference for the development of new methods and new products of potato seed-tuber treatment.
