Initiator Combinations Based on Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphate: Effect on Sugar Beet Seeds

Abstract: In order to research the effects of different initiatior combinations on the germination of sugar beet seeds, the study provided a basis for the screening of seed initiators. In this study, the sugar beet seed ''TD305'' was used as the test material, different initiator combinations and different concentrations were treated as the initiators of beet seed, and the germination potential, germination rate, germination index, and vigor index were measured. The results showed that 0.2% boric acid +0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate and 0.5% boric acid +0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate were beneficial to the germination of sugar beet seed, 0.8% boric acid+0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate had inhibitory effect on the germination of beet seed when the treatment time was 48h. The initiation effect of 0.2%Zinc sulfate+0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate was the best. The initiation effect of 0.2% manganese sulfate+0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate and 0.5% manganese sulfate+0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate were better than that 0.1% manganese sulfate+0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate. The analysis of different combinations showed that the combination with the highest germination potential was 0.5% manganese sulfate+0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and the combination with the highest germination rate, germination index and vigor index was 0.2% zinc sulfate+0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate. The germination potential, germination rate, germination index and vigor index of 0.8% boric acid + 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate were the lowest.
