Abstract:

At present, lack of landscaping waste recycling capacity in Xi’an is not only a waste of resources, but also the disadvantage over the protection on urban ecological environment. The purpose of this study is to understand the current situation on the reuse of landscaping waste in Xi’an, and put forward countermeasures for improving the recycling capacity of landscaping waste. This paper summarizes the experience of landscaping waste recycling at home and abroad, as well as the current situation of Xi’an through collecting the information and practice. In some developed countries and first-tier cities of China, the reutilization rate of greening waste is high and the development is mature, which has the support from policy, management, economy and propaganda. There are two ways to deal with landscaping waste in Xi’an: landfill and transfer and clearing. At present, only the small scale of reutilization practice has been carried out in two pilot areas, and the utilization of resource is still in the trial period. It has not been carried out in the whole city. According to the current situation of landscaping waste reutilization in Xi’an, this paper proposes suggestions to promote the reutilization capacity of landscaping waste from four aspects: policy guarantee, implementation of publicity, clearly defined authority and economic support. This study also puts forward measures to further promote the reutilization capacity of landscaping waste for the construction of ecological civilization in Xi’an.
