Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of sugarcane endophytes on its drought resistance, and to provide a theoretical basis and technical support for the development and utilization of sugarcane endophytes with drought-resistant functional strains. Six sugarcane endophytes isolated and identified by the research group were used as test strains. Drought stress was simulated for seedlings of sugarcane variety ‘ROC22’ 7 days after the inoculation, and then fully expanded first leaf was taken to determine the relevant physiological indicators. The results show that E3, O9 and YC89 all have high ACC deaminase activity, and the effects of different sugarcane endophytic strains on sugarcane drought resistance are significantly different. E3, O9 and YC89 have significant effects on improving the drought tolerance of sugarcane, mainly in terms of reducing cell membrane damage, increasing the content of osmotic adjustment substances, reducing the degree of membrane peroxidation, and increasing the activity of SOD and POD. This experiment found that the sugarcane endophytes producing ACC deaminase can effectively improve the drought resistance of sugarcane.
