The Breeding and Cultivation Technology of Longyu 5 Maize Variety with High Yield and Mult-resistance Ability

Abstract: The yield of summer-rowing maize varity was low and in-stable which the varity`s resistance of disease and non-biostress was decreased in Guanzhong, Shaanxi province, therefor the traits about mult-resistance, wide-suitability, stable yield and high yield was selected during maize varity breeding. Maize variety Longyu 5 was bred with germplasm improved and pedigree selection by the maize research centre of Xianyang agriculture institute in Shaanxi province.When it was rowed in summer, its growing-period was 95-98 days. The variety was with high-resistance to the northern corn leaf blight (Helm inthosporium turcicum) and the southern corn leaf blight (Helm in thosporium maydis) and with resistance to stalk rot, curvularia leaf spot and common smut. The content of crude protein, starch, crude fat and lysine was 10%, 71%, 4.1% and 0.258% in the grain, respectively; its quality was good with high yield, high resistance of disease and lodging, early-mid mature, wide suitability and good stay-green ability while haaresting. Longyu 5 was one grain and forage maize hybrid.
