Abstract: In order to explore the new mode of film-free corn cultivation in early mature area of Shanxi Province and identify the appropriate transplanting period of corn seedling in this area, a field experiment with completely randomized block design was conducted to analyze and compare the effect of different transplanting periods of corn seedling on the growth process, plant height, area of three ear leaves of mature corn, yield and its component factors, film direct seeding was used as CK. The results showed that the growth processes of corn seedlings transplanted in different periods were slower than that of CK. Transplanting mode could reduce plant height and the area of three ear leaves of mature corn. There was no significant difference between the yield of corn transplanted on May 1st and CK, which reduced by 7% compared to that of CK. Damages to the corn seedlings caused by local late frost must be noticed when corn seedlings were transplanted without film in early mature area, transplanting the seedlings just after the late frost could be considered as an appropriate way in this area.
