Identification and Evaluation of 89 Fresh Corns Resistance to Sporisorium reilianum from Gansu Regional Trial

Abstract:

The paper aims to confirm the head smut resistance difference among fresh corn cultivars. We identified the resistance of 89 corn cultivars in Gangu, Tianshui of Gansu by the method of artificial inoculation in field during 2015-2017. The results showed that: among the 89 fresh corn cultivars, 9 were highly resistant, including ‘cainuo1’,’gantiannuo1’, ‘qinliangnuo902’, ‘jiuyangshuangsemi’, ‘AP358’, ‘jiunuo4103’, ‘yayu1’, ‘henuo1’ and ‘tianfunuo1’; 5 cultivars were resistant, including ‘baonuo1’, ‘tianfunuo2’, ‘gankennuo2’, ‘jinhui306’ and ‘ruinuo260’; 9 cultivars were moderately resistant, including ‘huatianyu6’, ‘baiyu909’, ‘zhuonuo606’, ‘12009’, ‘yinyu16’, ‘huangnuo90’, ‘baitiannuo828’, ‘yuanyunuo505’ and ‘zhongtian5’; the other 36 and 30 cultivars were susceptible and highly susceptible; HR, R, MR, S, HS accounted for 10.11%, 5.62%, 10.11%, 40.45% and 33.71%, of the 89 cultivars respectively.
