Abstract:

To observe the accuracy of precipitation data, the precipitation data of the DCS1 weighing precipitation sensor and the SL3-1 somersault rainfall sensor observed at four stations in Nantong City from April to October 2018 were selected. The differences of daily precipitation and total precipitation were analyzed. The results showed that the average uniform rate of weighing sensor was 91.2% in the selected sample, with the number of rainfall days by artificial observation as reference. The uniform rate of weighing sensor was 94.5%, which was a reference to the rainfall day observed by the somersault sensor. The relative average error of accumulated precipitation observed by the weighing sensor and the somersault sensor was -1.55%, which conformed to the specifications stipulated by the China Meteorological Administration that the relative error does not exceed ±4%. In the analysis of the daily precipitation, it was found that the average weight sensor measurement was 0.29 mm smaller than the somersault sensor. When there was process precipitation, the two were basically the same in the daily precipitation level discrimination. The data observed by the weighing sensor was less than the probability observed by the somersault sensor, and the difference between the two sensors was relatively consistent. Weighing sensors were no worse, or even better, at capturing tiny amounts of precipitation. The correlation coefficient between the daily precipitation observed by weighing sensor and the somersault sensor was 0.99826, reaching a significant correlation level of 0.01.
