Abstract:

The study aims to investigate the effects of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and dark septate endophytes inoculum (DSE) on ginger growth. The ginger was used as material, and AMF, DSE and AMF+DSE combination were conducted in this study. During the rooting period, ginger root samples were collected for inoculation detection. The ginger yield and agronomic characters were analyzed with correlation analysis. Compared with the control, all treatment types (AMF, DSE and AMF+DSE combination) promoted ginger growth and decreased the occurrence of ginger wilt. Successful inoculation and colonization by AMF, DSE and AMF+DSE combination were confirmed in ginger roots. Application of microbial agents could effectively promote the growth of ginger and decrease the occurrence of ginger wilt. The highest ginger yield was achieved in the combination treatment with AMF and DSE (3257 kg/hm2), followed by AMF alone (2725 kg/hm2) and DSE (2402 kg/hm2). In comparison, the control resulted in a yield of 1997 kg/hm2. The yield increase was 38.7%, 26.7%, and 16.8% respectively for the combination treatment, AMF, and DSE. The control had a disease occurrence rate 54.2%, in contrast, the treatment groups exhibited a lower disease occurrence rate, with 5.24%, 8.27%, and 11.5% respectively for the combination treatment, AMF and DSE.
