Abstract: To reveal the effects of different irrigation amounts on photosynthetic characteristics and yield of different years’spring wheat, experiments were carried out with four irrigation treatments and five different years’spring wheat varieties (lines) in Ningxia. The influence of irrigation stages on the photosynthetic physiological indexes and yield factors of spring wheat in Ningxia were researched. The results showed that different irrigation treatments had significant impact on chlorophyll contents, photosynthetic rate (Pn), transpiration rate (Tr), water use efficiency (WUE). Under T1 and T2, the chlorophyll contents, Pn, WUE of ‘Maohuomai’and‘Ningchun 27’were higher than that of other wheat varieties; while under T1, T2 and T3, the yield of‘Maohuomai’and‘Ningchun 27’had no significant difference with that of other wheat varieties. Along with the increase of irrigation amount, the chlorophyll contents, Pn, WUE of‘Ningchun4’, ‘Ningchun50’and‘J63’were higher than that of‘Maohuomai’and‘Ningchun27’, the yield of ‘Ningchun4’,‘Ningchun50’and‘J63’under normal irrigation was obviously higher than that of other treatments. Therefore, spring wheat could obtain higher WUE and yield with sufficient irrigation at tillering stage and jointing stage, and increasing irrigation at heading stage in Ningxia Yellow-river irrigating region.
