Response Mechanism and Mitigation Measures of Peanut Salt Tolerance: Research Progress

Abstract:

Peanut is an important oil crop in China and its yield and total yield rank the first in the world. The saline-alkali area accounts for 30.12% of the total arable land in Xinjiang, and seriously restricts the crop development. This article summarized the effects of salt-alkali stress on peanut seed germination, peanut growth, physiological characteristics, and the response mechanism of peanut to the stress, discussed mitigation measures, and put forward suggestions on breeding and cultivating salt-tolerant peanut varieties, and promoting the development and application of soil amendments in the studied area.
