Abstract:

To study the application of CDDP primers in sugar beet breeding, we selected 12 sugar beet varieties for screening core primers from 35 CDDP primer pairs. Then, screened core primers were used to identify 43 registered varieties. The results showed that 10 of 35 CDDP primer pairs could be used as core CDDP primers for varieties identification. The bands amplified by these primers were clear, legible and high polymorphism and generally distributed from 50 to 400 bp. Among these core primers, KNOX-3 could identify the 43 registered varieties. The combination of MADS-1 and F3’H4 could also identify the 43 registered varieties. The screen of CDDP core primers could provide theoretical and technical support for beet variety identification and germplasm resources classification, and for effectively protecting the interests of farmers, breeders and sugar industry.
