Abstract:

The paper aims to analyze the differences of quality and yield of walnut under different planting patterns. We investigated walnut quality, including single fruit weight, moisture content, kernel percent, fat content, fatty acid composition and content, protein content, amino acid composition and content, and reducing sugar content, and walnut yield under two planting patterns, namely, walnut monoculture and jujube/walnut intercropping. The results show that the differences of quality or yield under different planting patterns are significant. Monoculture is favorable for walnut to accumulate reducing sugar after hydrolysis, while intercropping pattern (jujube/walnut) is favorable for walnut to accumulate protein. The kernel percent, fat content, fatty acid content, amino acid content and reducing sugar content of walnut are all higher under B2 treatment (walnut monoculture downhill), while the protein content under B2 treatment is relatively low. Under the same planting pattern, walnut yield of downhill treatment is higher than that of uphill treatment. Considering all the indicators, B2 treatment has the highest yield and better quality.
