Abstract: Solving the inconsistency between energy sources utilization and environment and ecology to realize reasonable use of various energy sources in deserted areas is significant in speeding up the construction of new socialist countryside and putting the sustainable development strategy in practice. Based on detailed investigation on current energy sources utilization in village Tiemuriwude, Alashanzuoqi, inner Mongolia and resultant analysis from the aspects of social economy, technique, producing structure, humanism and physical geography, crucial factors are found out which decide current utilization mode of energy sources. The current mode involves cores and straws from maize, coal, electricity, diesel oil and gasoline as main sources and liquefied petroleum gas and solar energy as auxiliary sources. It not only brings healthy and economic stress to local people, but deteriorates the degree of the desertification to some extent in this area. Some suggestions are presented on traditional and new energy sources and function of non-governmental organization.
