Abstract:

To explore the internal and external factors affecting the rooting rate of cuttings of Pinus thunbergii, an orthogonal experiment design of four factors and three levels [L9(34)] was applied to study the effects of kinds, concentration, treatment time of growth regulators and cutting medium on the softwood cuttings of P. thunbergii, and the current year’s softwood of P. thunbergii was used as the material. The results showed that the concentration of growth regulators had a significant effect on the rooting rate of P. thunbergii, but little effect on the number of adventitious roots and the longest adventitious root length. The kinds of growth regulators, treatment time and cutting medium had no significant effect on the rooting rate, the number of adventitious roots and the longest adventitious root length. Among the 9 treatments, treatment No.6 had the highest rooting rate (76.0%), whose number of adventitious roots and the longest adventitious root length were also better than other treatments.
