Effects of Different Fertilizer Treatments on Yield Traits, Sugar Content and Benefit of Sugarcane

Abstract:

To solve the problem of excessive fertilizer application, improve sugarcane cost-saving synergies, this study used different fertilizer treatments with B9 bacteria agent to influence the agronomic traits and economic benefits of sugarcane, so as to provide a basis for the application of B9 bacteria agent in sugarcane production. Six major sugarcane areas were selected as test sites in Yunnan Province. Different fertilization treatments were carried out with different combinations of B9, organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer to study the agronomic traits of sugarcane growth, yield and sugar content. And the planting benefits of sugarcane were analyzed. The results showed that B9 bacteria combined fertilizer could promote the emergence of seedlings in different degrees. In the six experimental sites, except Yingjiang and Jinggu where the application of B9 bacteria combined fertilizer had no obvious effect on promoting tillering of sugarcane, the other 4 test points all achieved effective promotion results. Compared with the conventional compound fertilizer treatment, the application of B9 bacteria improved the traits like plant height, stem diameter, effective stem number, sugarcane stem yield, sucrose content and so on, but the effects were not significant. The economic benefit analysis of Yuanjiang showed that the benefit of B9 combined fertilizer treatment was higher than that of the control, but the benefit of the fertilizer treatment without B9 bacteria was lower than that of the control. In summary, applying the combination of ‘B9 bacteria agent + organic fertilizer + chemical fertilizer’ plays a positive role in stabilizing yield and reducing fertilizer amount, and has a value of application and promotion.
