Investigations on the Factors of Affecting Jangsu Households’ Selling of Poplar by Principal Component Analysis

Abstract: Selling of poplar is an important link of the poplar industry chain. The peasant households get income from poplar, selling also. So sustainable development of poplar industry depend on selling of poplar. This paper examines the factors that affect the poplar sellers’s decision-making. The data were obtained from a sample of 278 peasant households in Jiangsu province. Factor analysis is then employed and three factors are extracted from nine attributes considered to affect the households in selling. We find that the main peasant households are faced with high paying and price risks when they sell poplar through markets. So the peasant households pay close attentions to paying and price factors. The peasant households are affected by paying and price factor, trust factor and convenient factor in selling poplar.
